Why we're building Lineage Money

Every Indian family has a story of lost wealth. An uncle's fixed deposit that no one claimed after he passed. A property dispute between siblings that dragged on for decades. Insurance policies found in dusty files, years past their maturity date.

We started Lineage Money because we lived these stories. And we realized that India — a country where families are the backbone of everything — has zero infrastructure for family financial governance.

The Scale of the Problem

The numbers are staggering:

  • ₹78,213 crore in unclaimed deposits, shares, insurance, and dividends (source: RBI, SEBI IEPF, IRDAI reports, 2024-25)
  • 70% of Indian families have no written succession plan
  • 66% of estate litigation is intra-family (between siblings, spouses, and children)
  • 15+ years average time to resolve succession disputes in Indian courts
  • ₹1.2 lakh crore estimated value tied up in active succession disputes

This isn't a technology problem alone — it's a cultural and awareness problem. Indian families don't talk about money, death, or succession planning. We're changing that conversation.

Our Approach

Lineage Money is not just another portfolio tracker. We're building a family wealth governance platform — a place where the entire family can see what they own, plan what happens next, and work with trusted advisors when they need help.

  1. Track — Aggregate every asset across every institution in one place. Demat, mutual funds, insurance, property, gold, bank accounts, crypto.
  2. Protect — Encrypted document vault for wills, nominations, and policy documents. Family roles and permissions ensure the right people see the right things.
  3. Transfer — Succession mapping, nominee validation, and legal heir documentation. When the time comes, your family has everything they need.
  4. Advise — Marketplace of verified CAs, SEBI-registered advisors, and estate planners who specialize in family wealth.

Built for Indian Families

We understand the nuances — HUF structures, Hindu Succession Act, Muslim Personal Law, Indian Succession Act for other communities. Joint family property, ancestral vs self-acquired. Nominee vs legal heir complexities across banks, demat accounts, insurance, and property.

Our platform is designed for the Indian context from day one. Not a Western tool adapted for India.

Our Team

We're a team of engineers, financial professionals, and product builders who've worked across fintech, wealth management, and enterprise software. Based in India, building for Indian families.
