Lineage/For professionals

For accountants, tax practitioners, advisers and legal practices

Compliance you can prove. AI that doesn’t break it.

Regulators stopped asking practices for policies. They ask for evidence: who opened what, under whose consent, held where, for how long. Most tools leave you writing that story afterwards. This one produces it as a by-product of doing the work.

The problem with the obvious answer

Most AI tools create a disclosure. Ours doesn’t.

The moment client data leaves your boundary for a third-party model provider, you have acquired an obligation: something to disclose, something to consent, something to explain to a regulator or a professional body. That is the real reason so many practices have quietly banned the tools their staff already use.

Lineage runs inference inside its own boundary, on infrastructure the platform controls. No third-party model provider receives client documents or client data — so adopting it doesn’t hand you a new disclosure to make.

Where it runs Inside the boundary

Document reading and inference happen on the platform’s own infrastructure. Client data is not passed to an external model vendor.

Where it sits In the right region

Residency is documented component by component rather than claimed as a single switch — client data ingested through the US product resides on US infrastructure, with each component’s status published, including the ones still being regionalised.

What it leaves An audit trail

Per-household logs of every access, and consent records carrying expiry dates. Evidence you can produce, rather than a policy you can assert.

The control map — frameworks, certifications and the row-by-row residency table — is maintained on the product’s trust page, which is the authoritative source rather than this one.

One surface

Not six products. One record, and every view drawn from it.

Advisory software is usually sold by discipline: a tax engine, a portfolio tool, a needs-analysis calculator, an estate module. A practice that does more than one thing ends up running several, none of which agree with each other.

Lineage assembles the household’s balance sheet once and reconciles it once. Everything below is a view of that single record — not a module you buy, and not a version of the product for a particular kind of adviser.

Views of the same reconciled record
View What it shows
Position The whole balance sheet, including everything held away — private funds, equity awards, property, business stakes — with liabilities sitting against the assets they encumber.
Obligations What is due and when, computed from the live position as the year runs rather than reconstructed at the deadline.
Exposure Concentration across every holding in one employer, one sector or one building — visible only once the pieces stop living in different systems.
Protection Cover measured against the liabilities and dependants actually on the balance sheet, instead of against a rule of thumb.
Continuity Beneficiary coverage, name mismatches, nominations against written instructions, and what a family would struggle to find.
Provenance Every figure traceable to the document that produced it, the date it was true, and whether anything disagrees.
The book The same signals across every client family at once, so attention goes where it is actually needed.

Whichever of these your work draws on, the controls, the logging and the branding underneath are identical. There is no adviser edition and no tax edition.

What you can evidence

The questions that end an inspection early.

Every one of these has a concrete answer in the platform, retrievable in seconds and timestamped. That is a different posture from having a written policy that says the right thing.

The obligations differ by jurisdiction — tax-information rules and safeguards requirements in the US, data protection and professional codes in India and elsewhere — but the evidence a regulator wants is remarkably consistent.

Who accessed this client’s data, and when?

A per-household access log, append-only, covering every view and every change — by your staff, by the client, and by anyone they granted access to.

Under what consent, and has it expired?

Access is granted by the client with a defined scope and an end date. The consent record sits alongside the log, so authority and action are evidenced together.

Where is this data physically held?

Residency is regional and documented per component, so a cross-border transfer question has a factual answer rather than an assurance.

Did any AI vendor see client information?

No third-party model provider is in the path. This is an architectural property, not a contractual promise from a subprocessor.

Can the client get their own data out?

Self-service export, access and deletion sit with the client. You are not the bottleneck for a subject request, and you are not liable for being slow to one.

What happens on termination?

Access ends when the grant ends. Deletion destroys the household’s keys rather than only the rows, and the event is logged like any other.

The economics

The fee compresses. The work doesn’t.

You already do the work. The message at eleven at night asking whether to sell. The call before the property goes through. You work continuously and bill for a single artefact — a return, an annual review, a plan, a policy recommendation — not for lack of skill, but because assembling one client’s whole picture takes hours, so you can only afford to do it once a year.

The discrete artefact is being automated and priced accordingly, whichever one you produce. Judgement is not, and never will be — but you cannot sell judgement on top of a picture you rebuild by hand every time a client asks a question.

Lineage assembles it continuously and hands it to you reconciled.

What changes for the practice
  Today With Lineage underneath
Getting the data Chasing attachments over messaging apps in the weeks before every deliverable. Already there, reconciled, with the source document attached to every figure.
Proving compliance A written policy, and a scramble to reconstruct who saw what. Access logs and consent records generated as a by-product of the work itself.
Using AI Either banned internally, or quietly used with a disclosure nobody has made. Inference inside the boundary, with no third-party model provider in the path.
The client picture Rebuilt annually from scratch, then discarded. Permanent, current, and shared between you and the client continuously.
What you deliver One artefact a year — a return, a review, a plan — for a fee under pressure. A monthly position, readiness checks and briefs — retainer-shaped work.
Whose brand Whichever portal the client happened to sign up for. Co-branded as standard, with white-label available on a higher tier.

What the practice side gives you

Built for the firm, not just the client.

One client group, not five folders

The household and the businesses its members own, side by side. Personal and entity numbers that finally reconcile against each other instead of living in separate systems.

The working papers, already made

Source documents read into whichever views your discipline actually needs — income by payer, holdings reconciled to the statement that produced them, cover against liabilities, beneficiary coverage across the household.

Deliverables, not favours

A monthly position instead of one annual artefact. Briefs, plans and readiness checks generated from the family’s own picture — the things that justify a retainer rather than a one-off fee.

Presented under your brand

Co-branded as standard — your practice alongside Lineage. White-label, where the platform carries your brand alone, is a higher subscription tier. Either way we never market to your clients.

Scoped access, logged both ways

Clients grant exactly what you need for exactly as long as you need it. Every opening is recorded — which protects the practice as much as it protects the client.

A portfolio view of the book

Which clients have an obligation due, an unresolved conflict, a governance gap or a threshold approaching — across the whole book, without opening a single file.

You were never being paid for the typing.
You were being paid for knowing what the numbers meant.

The part that decides adoption

Clients don’t open portals. They open what’s theirs.

Every practice has bought a client portal, and every practice knows what happened next. Logins issued, nobody signs in, and within one cycle everyone is back to email attachments.

The difference here is whose thing it is. The household picture belongs to the family and is useful to them whether or not you are in it — their net worth, their documents, their governance gaps. You are working inside something they already open, rather than asking them to visit somewhere they don’t.

They hold the keys throughout. How access actually works.

The branded solution

Co-branded as standard. White-label if you want it.

How the workspace presents to your clients is a choice, and the two arrangements are genuinely different — so we describe them separately rather than implying every practice gets the top one.

Either way, we do not market to your clients and we never approach them around you. The relationship is yours before Lineage and after it.

How the workspace is presented
  Co-branded White-label
Availability The standard arrangement for a registered practice. A higher subscription tier.
What the client sees Your practice presented alongside Lineage. Your brand on the platform your clients use.
Verified credentials Displayed on your practice profile. Displayed on your practice profile.
Controls and logging Scoped per team member, logged per opening. Scoped per team member, logged per opening.

Credentials

Verified against the body that issued them.

A family choosing a professional has no practical way to check a registration number themselves. We check it against the issuing body and display what you actually hold on your practice profile.

In India that means ICAI, SEBI, AMFI, IRDAI and the Bar Council. Equivalent bodies are added as each region opens. If you hold a credential we do not yet verify, tell us and we will look at adding it.

Getting set up

Families start instantly. Firms take about a day.

Practices are approved rather than self-serve, because a firm workspace can hold other people’s financial data and that should not be handed out on an email address alone. An admin reviews the practice — usually within a day — and the workspace goes live.

We will never take a percentage of your professional fees. That is a standing commitment rather than an introductory position, and we earn nothing from any fund, policy or loan a client buys. Commercial terms are a conversation — write to us and we will walk through them.

Step 01

Register the practice

Your firm, your regulatory standing, and the people who will hold access. This is the part an admin reviews.

Step 02

Approved, usually within a day

The workspace goes live co-branded with your practice. Nothing to install and no migration to run.

Step 03

Choose how it is branded

Co-branded as standard, or white-label on a higher tier. Either can be changed later.

Step 04

Invite a client, or accept a grant

Existing Lineage households can grant you scoped access directly. New ones you bring in start from whatever documents they already have.

Stop reconstructing the evidence.

The picture, the proof and the audit trail are the same artefact. Set the practice up and see it on one real client.
